Sea Otters Emergency Help! You may have read today that newly released survey data shows once again the California sea otter population is declining. The fact is, California's sea otters are dying, and scientists need help to pinpoint the causes before it's too late. A bill now before Congress, the Southern Sea Otter Recovery and Research Act (H.R. 556), would fund vital research that can help save sea otters—if it gets the votes to pass.   (more)

WHALE WARS This article is about the show whale wars on animal planet that has raised awareness of whaling. The next season is to begin in June and is claimed to be the most exciting season yet, because there has been boat ramming and water cannons, etc. Watson has said that they will do anything short of harming anyone to stop the Japanese from whaling. During this season the Japanese suffered a loss when one of their crew fell overboard not while the sea Shepherd was around. Watson offered to help with a search and rescue, but the Japanese said that they hindered more than helped. I thought this article was interesting, because it talked about everything the sea shepherd does. I t also talked about the popularity the show was gaining and the awareness it was raising. I wish it had gone into more detail about the specific events on this season.    (more)

Happy Earth Day! I can’t believe it is already Earth Day. We are working on a lot or projects behind the scenes right now and we’ll have some pretty cool announcements.  Right now we are working on testing and installation of a Solar Powered Gable Fan. Earth Hour I did not see a lot of headlines or news on "Earth Hour" from last night... interesting that they wanted people to capture the event on video or blogs... oops... those things use energy! OK, I am know for a bit of sarcasm, but something did not see right about this method, so I waited until today.  I did not run into many folks who even heard of the event so I really am curious today to see what the news says on participation.  CNN has a small article buried on the bottom of their pages, but the bigger concern is the North Dakota flooding.   (more)
